Extract from the Journals of the House of Commons of Wednesday, February 19, 1997:

At 6:30 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 45, the House proceeded to the taking of the deferred recorded division on the motion of Mr. Goodale (Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food), seconded by Mr. Gerrard (Secretary of State (Science, Research and Development)(Western Economic Diversification)),--That Bill C-72, An Act to amend the Canadian Wheat Board Act and to make consequential amendments to other Acts, be referred forthwith to the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following division:

Accordingly, the Bill was referred to the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food.

By unanimous consent, Mr. Zed (Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), seconded by Mr. Campbell (Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance), moved,--That the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food be authorized to travel to Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary and Grande Prairie from March 17 to March 21, 1997, in relation to their examination of Bill C-72, An Act to amend the Canadian Wheat Board Act, and that the necessary staff accompany the Committe.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.
