The Standing Committee on Government Operations met in camera at 3:47 o'clock p.m. this day, in Room 306, West Block, the Chair, Tony Valeri, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Colleen Beaumier, Eugène Bellemare, John Bryden, Gilbert Fillion, Bill Gilmour, John Harvard, Ovid Jackson and Tony Valeri.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Eric Adams, Research Officer.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee considered a draft report on the study of Public Service renewal initiatives (See Minutes of Proceedings and Evidence, dated Tuesday, October 8, 1996, Issue No. 2).
It was agreed, - That the Committee adopt the draft report, as amended, as its 3rd Report.
It was agreed, - That the Chair be authorized to make such editorial and typographical changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the Report to the House.
It was agreed, - That the Committee print up to 550 copies of its Report on Public Service Renewal Initiatives in tumble, bilingual format.
It was agreed, - That the Chair be authorized to present the Report to the House.
It was agreed, - That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(1)(a), the Committee authorise the printing of brief dissenting opinions, to be submitted to the Clerk by 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 23, as appendices to the Report following the Chair's signature.
It was agreed, - That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Government be requested to table a comprehensive report.
At 4:44 o'clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
