By unanimous consent, Mr. Zed (Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), seconded by Mr. Kirkby (Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada), moved,--That the Standing Committee on Industry be the committee designated for the purpose of section 14 of the Patent Act Amendment Act 1992 (Chapter 2, Statutes of Canada, 1993).

Mr. Kilger (Stormont--Dundas), from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, presented the 55th Report of the Committee, which was as follows:
The Committee recommends, pursuant to Standing Orders 104 and 114, the following changes in the membership of the Standing Committee on Industry:
Joseph Volpe for Alex Shepherd
Bernard Patry for Mark Assad
Ron MacDonald for Geoff Regan
Nick Discepola for Tony Ianno
The Committee further recommends, that where a Member is appointed as permanent member to a Committee in accordance with this report and to which he was previously appointed Associate Member, that the name of the Member be struck from the list of Associate Members of the said Committee.
A copy of the relevant Minutes of Proceedings (Issue No. 3, which includes this Report) was tabled.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

The Committee also recommends, pursuant to Standing Orders 104 and 114, that the following member be added to the list of Associate Members of the Standing Committee on Industry:
Maurice Godin
The Committee further recommends, that where a Member is appointed as permanent member to a Committee in accordance with this report and to which he was previously appointed Associate Member, that the name of the Member be struck from the list of Associate Members of the said Committee.
