ORDERS OF REFERENCE

Extract from the Minutes of Proceedings of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, Tuesday, April 16, 1996 (Meeting No. 5):
On motion of Marlene Catterall, it was agreed,--That, pursuant to the Committee's mandate under Standing Order 108(3)(a), a Sub-Committee be struck to undertake a comprehensive review of the business of supply, with particular attention to the reform of the Estimates and the processes and mechanisms by which the House and its committees may consider and dispose of them;
--that, the Sub-Committee be granted the same powers as the Committee has and enjoys pursuant to Standing Order 108(1) except the power to report directly to the House;
--that, the Sub-Committee be composed of the following Members: Marlene Catterall (Chair); John Loney, Rey Pagtakhan, René Laurin, John Williams and John Solomon;
--that, the evidence taken by the Sub-Committee on the Business of Supply during the First Session of the present Parliament be deemed adduced by the Sub-Committee and the Committee in the present session; and
--that, the Sub-Committee report to the Committee no later than June 14, 1996.

On motion of Marlene Catterall, it was agreed,--That, the deadline for the tabling with the Committee of the Sub-Committee on the Business of Supply be extended to November 29, 1996.
