| Pursuant to Standing Order 97.1, your Committee is requesting an extension of thirty sitting days, to consider Bill C-420, An Act to amend the Food and Drugs Act (definitions of "drug" and "food"). Thereby providing the Committee with a total of ninety sitting days during which to complete its study of the Bill. | Conformément à l’article 97.1 du Règlement, le Comité demande une prolongation de trente jours de séance pour l'étude du projet de loi C-420, Loi modifiant la Loi sur les aliments et drogues (définitions de "drogue" et "aliment"). Par conséquent, le Comité disposera d'un total de quatre-vingt-dix jours de séance durant lesquels il pourra compléter son étude du projet de loi. |
| Given the fact that the Committee finds it necessary to consult further with Health Canada, and other stakeholders, in order to give the Bill the consideration it requires, it therefore requests an extension of thirty sitting days. | Étant donné que le Comité juge nécessaire de consulter davantage Santé Canada et d'autres intervenants afin d'accorder à ce projet de loi l'attention qu'il nécessite, il demande une prolongation de trente jours de séance. |
