| NINTH REPORT | NEUVIÈME RAPPORT |
| Pursuant to Standing Order(2), your Committee recommends that the Government of Canada: | Conformément au paragraphe 108(2), votre Comité recommande que le gouvernement du Canada : |
| 1) condemn the murder and mutilation of Tanzanian adults and children with albinism for their body parts; | 1) condamne le meurtre et la mutilation d'adultes et d'enfants tanzaniens atteints d'albinisme pour les parties de leur corps; |
| 2) express the support of the citizens of Canada for people with albinism in Tanzania who have been the victims of such attacks; | 2) exprime l'appui des citoyens du Canada aux personnes atteintes d'albinisme en Tanzanie qui sont victimes de ces violences; |
| 3) recognize that the murder and mutilation of people because of this genetic condition constitutes what UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has called “a unacceptable violation of human rights”; | 3) reconnaît que le meurtre et la mutilation d'êtres humains à cause de leur condition génétique constituent ce que le Secrétaire général de l'ONU Ban Ki-moon a qualifié de « violation inadmissible des droits humains »; |
| 4) urge the Government of Tanzania to prosecute actively and aggressively and convict all perpetrators of these crimes against humanity; | 4) exhorte le gouvernement de Tanzanie à poursuivre en justice activement et avec force et condamne tous les auteurs de ces crimes contre l'humanité; |
| 5) call on the Government of Tanzania to take immediate action to prevent further violence against persons with albinism and to bring to swift justice those who have engaged in such practices; | 5) demande au gouvernement de Tanzanie de prendre des mesures immédiates pour mettre fin à la violence faite aux personnes atteintes d'albinisme et de traduire rapidement en justice ceux qui se livrent à ces pratiques; |
| 6) notify officially the Government of Tanzania of this. | 6) informe officiellement le gouvernement de Tanzanie de cette résolution. |
