M-336 — May 24, 2007 — Mr. Dewar (Ottawa Centre) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should develop a process for integrating internationally trained professionals into the workforce that would include: (a) ensuring the registration practices of regulated professions are transparent, objective and impartial; (b) centralizing the accreditation process and creating national foreign credential recognition standards; (c) expanding programs to help trained newcomers integrate into the workplace; and (d) supporting community-based organizations to help newcomers become more quickly established. |
