| M-263 — December 7, 2006 — Mr. Lunney (Nanaimo—Alberni) — That, in the opinion of the House, in relation to the Canada's 13 UNESCO-designated biosphere reserves, the government should: (a) recognize the important study, collaboration and consensus-building concerning ecologically sound and responsible development in areas surrounding selected Canadian parks and protected areas; and (b) provide a base level of funding for each reserve toward establishing an office and hiring an officer to coordinate the efforts of volunteers and promote the objectives of the biosphere reserve. |
