| March 3, 2008 — Mr. Crête (Montmagny—L'Islet—Kamouraska—Rivière-du-Loup) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should immediately abandon the idea of creating a common securities regulator, since securities regulations fall under the legislative jurisdiction of Quebec and the provinces and because this initiative is unanimously condemned in Quebec. |

| March 3, 2008 — Mrs. Mourani (Ahuntsic) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should introduce, as soon as possible, an amendment to Bill C-10, An Act to amend the Income Tax Act, including amendments in relation to foreign investment entities and non-resident trusts, and to provide for the bijural expression of the provisions of that Act, in order to remove the reference to public policy that is added by this bill to subsection 125.4(1) of the Income Tax Act, because this new provision opens the door to unacceptable government censorship of film and video production. |

| M-467 — March 3, 2008 — Ms. Wasylycia-Leis (Winnipeg North) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should amend the Tobacco Act to: (a) prohibit the sale of flavoured tobacco products and rolling papers made from tobacco; (b) require cigarillos (cigars that may or may not have a binder and that are 120 mm or less in length) to be sold in packages containing at least 20 cigarillos each; and (c) require all tobacco products to have prominent, rotating health warnings, in compliance with Canada’s obligations under the World Health Organization’s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control. |
| M-468 — March 3, 2008 — Ms. Bonsant (Compton—Stanstead) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should put forward legislation to help victims of criminal offences, parents whose minor child has gone missing, parents whose adult or minor child has committed suicide, spouses whose partner has committed suicide, parents whose minor child has suffered serious bodily harm as a result of a criminal offence, parents whose minor or adult child who has died as a result of a criminal offence, and spouses of a victim who has died as a result of a criminal offence by: (a) amending the Canada Labour Code to allow them to be absent from work for up to one year without losing their job; (b) providing special employment insurance benefits for a period of up to 50 weeks; and (c) giving provinces that have social programs with similar objectives the opportunity to opt out of the federal program with full, unconditional financial compensation. |

| M-383 — January 30, 2008 — Resuming consideration of the motion of Ms. Thibault (Rimouski-Neigette—Témiscouata—Les Basques), seconded by Mr. Pearson (London North Centre), — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should review the Old Age Security program with a view to: (a) reduce the program’s operational costs by ceasing to pay benefits that subsequently have to be repaid; (b) allocate these savings first to single, divorced and widowed Guaranteed Income Savings recipients, specifically to people who did not have an opportunity to prepare for their retirement; (c) improve the Guaranteed Income Savings benefits for elderly single, divorced and widowed individuals; and (d) increase the other income threshold so that Guaranteed Income Savings recipients may receive the equivalent of 15 hours per week of work at minimum wage in their province of residence without penalty. |
