| M-448 — May 30, 2013 — Mr. Boughen (Palliser) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should commit to honouring our Afghan veterans through a permanent memorial either at an existing or a new site in the National Capital Region, once all Canadian Armed Forces personnel return to Canada in 2014, and that the memorial remember (i) those who lost their lives and who were injured in the Afghanistan War, (ii) the contribution of our Canadian Armed Forces, diplomatic and aid personnel who defended Canada and its allies from the threat of terrorism, (iii) the contributions made by Canada to improving the lives of the Afghan people, and (iv) the hundreds of Canadian Armed Forces personnel who remain in a non-combat role in Afghanistan today, helping to train Afghan forces. | M-448 — 30 mai 2013 — M. Boughen (Palliser) — Que, de l’avis de la Chambre, le gouvernement devrait s’engager à rendre hommage à nos anciens combattants de l’Afghanistan en installant un monument commémoratif sur un site nouveau ou existant dans la région de la capitale nationale, une fois que tout le personnel des Forces armées canadiennes sera rentré au Canada, en 2014, et que le monument commémoratif honore (i) ceux qui ont perdu la vie et qui ont été blessés dans la guerre en Afghanistan, (ii) la contribution de nos Forces armées canadiennes, de notre personnel diplomatique et de notre personnel d’aide qui ont défendu le Canada et ses alliés contre la menace du terrorisme, (iii) la contribution du Canada à l’amélioration de la qualité de vie du peuple afghan, (iv) les centaines de membres des Forces armées canadiennes qui sont encore en Afghanistan aujourd’hui dans un rôle de non-combattant pour former les forces afghanes. |
