The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met in a televised session at 11:04 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Joe Preston, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: David Christopherson, Kevin Lamoureux, Alexandrine Latendresse, Tom Lukiwski, Dave MacKenzie, Ted Opitz, Joe Preston, Scott Reid, Blake Richards and Craig Scott.

 

Acting Members present: Blaine Calkins for Ted Opitz and Scott Simms for Kevin Lamoureux.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Andre Barnes, Analyst; Martha Butler, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Elections Canada: Marc Mayrand, Chief Electoral Officer; Belaineh Deguefé, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Integrated Services, Policy and Public Affairs; Stéphane Perrault, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Regulatory Affairs; Hughes St-Pierre, Chief Financial and Planning Officer, Integrated Services, Policy and Public Affairs.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2015-16: Vote 1 under CHIEF ELECTORAL OFFICER, referred to the Committee on Tuesday, February 24, 2015.
 

The Chair called Vote 1 under CHIEF ELECTORAL OFFICER.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Monday, May 4, 2015, the Committee commenced consideration of Bill C-50, An Act to amend the Canada Elections Act.
