| M-128 — March 23, 2017 — Mr. Kent (Thornhill) — That, in the opinion of the House, the extreme socialist policies and corruption of President Nicolas Maduro and his predecessor President Hugo Chavez have imposed considerable suffering on the people of Venezuala and therefore the House call upon the government to: (a) develop a plan to provide humanitarian aid directly to Venezuela’s people, particularly with respect to alleviating the severe shortages of food and medical supplies; (b) condemn the continued unjust imprisonment and treatment of political opponents who, as reported by Luis Almagro, Secretary General of the Organization of American States on March 14, 2017, “fear repression, torture, and even death”; (c) call upon the Government of Venezuela to respect the right of the people of Venezuela to hold a free and fair referendum to restore democratic rule in their country; and (d) recognize that Canada’s foreign policy should always be rooted in protecting and promoting freedom, democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. |
| M-129 — March 23, 2017 — Mr. Carrie (Oshawa) — That in the opinion of the House the government should: (a) report annually to Parliament on the financial impact, past and projected, of the federally-mandated price on carbon on Canadian households and employers; and (b) request that the Standing Committee on Finance undertake a study on how the government could examine approaches and methods to ensure maximum transparency for consumers related to the costs of carbon pricing, including a requirement for a dedicated line item on invoices and receipts, and report its findings and recommendations to the House within four months of the adoption of this motion. |

| M-100 — February 13, 2017 — Resuming consideration of the motion of Mrs. Mendès (Brossard—Saint-Lambert), seconded by Mr. Whalen (St. John's East), — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should recognize the important role co-operatives play in the economy and ensure that they continue to thrive by taking concrete steps such as: (a) developing, in consultation with provincial and territorial governments, Indigenous communities and the co-operative sector, a federal co-operative strategy to promote and support Canada’s co-operative sector; and (b) providing periodic progress reports on pre-established goals and targets. |
