| M-57 — May 3, 2016 — Mr. Davies (Vancouver Kingsway) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should take immediate steps to address the alarming and dangerous loss of bee colonies and other pollinating insects in Canada and beyond: (a) by recognizing the vital role that bees and other pollinating insects perform ecologically, economically, and for our food security; (b) by phasing out the widespread use of neonicotinoid pesticides and ensuring access to safe alternatives; and (c) by developing a strategy to address the multiple factors related to bee colony deaths, such as the destruction and disturbance of habitat, the use of pesticides and parasites. |
