In October 2023, 134 witnesses (90.6% of that month’s total) completed and passed their pre-test, 4 (2.7%) completed but failed their pre-test, 3 (2.0%) did not attend their scheduled pre-test, and 7 (4.7%) did not schedule a pre-test. In November 2023, 207 witnesses (90.9% of that month’s total) completed and passed their pre-test, 9 (3.9%) completed but failed their pre-test, 3 (1.3%) did not attend their scheduled pre-test, and 9 (3.9%) did not schedule a pre-test. In December 2023, 110 witnesses (92.4% of that month’s total) completed and passed their pre-test, 5 (4.2%) completed but failed their pre-test, 0 (0%) did not attend their scheduled pre-test, and 4 (3.4%) did not schedule a pre-test. In February 2024, 246 witnesses (95% of that month’s total) completed and passed their pre-test, 7 (2.7%) completed but failed their pre-test, 3 (1.2%) did not attend their scheduled pre-test, and 3 (1.2%) did not schedule a pre-test. In March and April 2024, 176 witnesses (96.7% of that month’s total) completed and passed their pre-test, 1 (0.5%) completed but failed their pre-test, 1 (0.5%) did not attend their scheduled pre-test, and 4 (2.2%) did not schedule a pre-test.

In October 2023, 99% of witnesses used a House of Commons-approved headset, 1% of witnesses used a headset from another source, and 0% had no headset (using instead a device-integrated microphone). In November 2023, 100% of witnesses used a House of Commons-approved headset, 0% of witnesses used a headset from another source, and 0% had no headset (using instead a device-integrated microphone). In December 2023, 99% of witnesses used a House of Commons-approved headset, 1% of witnesses used a headset from another source, and 0% had no headset (using instead a device-integrated microphone). In February 2024, 100% of witnesses used a House of Commons-approved headset, 0% of witnesses used a headset from another source, and 0% had no headset (using instead a device-integrated microphone). In March and April 2024, 100% of witnesses used a House of Commons-approved headset, 0% of witnesses used a headset from another source, and 0% had no headset (using instead a device-integrated microphone).

In October 2023, for interpretation issues reported during meetings, 10 were related to remote participant configuration, 5 were undefined with interpretation impact, 7 were related to a user error, 0 was undefined with no interpretation impact, 2 were related to a technical problem with the room, 0 was related to a participant issue in the room, 0 was related to other and 0 was related to feedback noise. In November 2023, for interpretation issues reported during meetings, 11 were related to remote participant configuration, 8 were undefined with interpretation impact, 8 were related to a user error, 1 was undefined with no interpretation impact, 8 were related to a technical problem with the room, 2 were related to a participant issue in the room, 0 was related to other and 0 was related to feedback noise. In December 2023, for interpretation issues reported during meetings, 13 were related to remote participant configuration, 2 were undefined with interpretation impact, 6 were related to a user error, 0 was undefined with no interpretation impact, 0 was related to a technical problem with the room, 1 was related to a participant issue in the room, 2 were related to other and 1 was related to feedback noise. In February 2024, for interpretation issues reported during meetings, 22 were related to remote participant configuration, 1 was undefined with interpretation impact, 8 were related to a user error, 0 was undefined with no interpretation impact, 5 were related to a technical problem with the room, 0 was related to a participant issue in the room, 0 was related to other and 2 were related to feedback noise. In March and April 2024, for interpretation issues reported during meetings, 14 were related to remote participant configuration, 0 was undefined with interpretation impact, 7 were related to a user error, 0 was undefined with no interpretation impact, 3 were related to a technical problem with the room, 1 was related to a participant issue in the room, 1 was related to other and 2 were related to feedback noise.

In October 2023, for committee meeting participants participating by videoconference, 38% had a Wi-Fi connection, 61% had a wired connection, and 1% had a cellular connection. In November 2023, for committee meeting participants participating by videoconference, 39% had a Wi-Fi connection, 60% had a wired connection, and 1% had a cellular connection. In December 2023, for committee meeting participants participating by videoconference, 40% had a Wi-Fi connection, 59% had a wired connection, and 1% had a cellular connection. In February 2024, for committee meeting participants participating by videoconference, 40% had a Wi-Fi connection, 58% had a wired connection, and 2% had a cellular connection. In March and April 2024, for committee meeting participants participating by videoconference, 36% had a Wi-Fi connection, 62% had a wired connection, and 2% had a cellular connection.

In general, wired connectivity provides a better audio chain.

In October 2023, for witnesses at committee meetings, 66% appeared in person and 34% by videoconference. In November 2023, for witnesses at committee meetings, 57% appeared in person and 43% by videoconference. In December 2023, for witnesses at committee meetings, 60% appeared in person and 40% by videoconference. In February 2024, for witnesses at committee meetings, 65% appeared in person and 35% by videoconference. In March and April 2024, for witnesses at committee meetings, 75% appeared in person and 25% by videoconference.

In January 2023, 81% of the minutes spoken by participants were in person and 19% by videoconference.
