M-222 Natural carbon sinks

That, in the opinion of the House, the government should: (a) agree to protect natural carbon sinks such as wetlands, peat bogs, forests and land farmed according to green agricultural practices; and (b) adapt its national system for calculating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to include the GHGs stored by wetlands, peat bogs and other land uses that are not calculated under the current system.
