Last year, legislation was introduced on topics such as railway safety, the establishment of a new urban national park in Toronto, the implementation of a trade agreement with South Korea, and the improvement of support and compensation for members of the Canadian Forces.

In Committees

With input from thousands of technical experts and other Canadian citizens, Members investigated important issues such as how to reduce barriers preventing the trade of agricultural products between provinces, renew Canada’s forestry industry and ensure the economic prosperity of women.

Internationally

Members play an important role in strengthening Canada’s ties with other countries. Last year, Parliament was visited by delegations from Ukraine, France, Germany, Australia, Peru, South Korea and other countries around the world.
