Gord Johns moved, — That the committee resume debate on the motion of Gord Johns and on the amendment of Brendan Hanley moved on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 7; NAYS: 4.
The committee resumed consideration of the motion of Gord Johns moved on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, which read as follows:
That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), given the increasing prevalence of privatized health care across the country and the difficulty Canadians face in getting the health care they need, the committee undertake a study of at least four meetings on protecting Canada’s public health care system against for-profit corporations, and that the committee invite the Chief Executive Officer of for-profit health care providers like Loblaw Companies Limited to testify.
and of the amendment of Brendan Hanley moved on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, which read as follows:
That the motion be amended by adding after the words “the committee undertake a study of at least four meetings on” the following: “the role of the private sector in Canada's public health care system, including”.
