That, pursuant to the motion adopted on Monday, April 25, 2022, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Canadian National be invited, accompanied by her representatives, to appear at the meeting on the Board of Directors' and the companies' respect for the official languages.
On Monday, April 25, 2022, the committee adopted the following motion:
That the committee invite the directors of the Canadian National for a two-hour meeting to answer questions from parliamentarians on the Board of Directors' and the companies' respect for the official languages; that the Minister of Transport participates to this meeting to update the committee on what steps the government intends to take to ensure that the Official Languages Act is enforced at the Canadian National; that the Commissioner of Official Languages also be invited to answer questions from the committee; and that this meeting take place at the earliest opportunity.
