Human Rights in Repressive States: The Situation of Human Rights Defenders, Journalists and Media Organizations

On Monday, February 14, 2022, the subcommittee adopted the following motion:

That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the subcommittee conduct a study on human rights defenders under attack, particularly journalists and media organizations, and how Canada can support their efforts, that the study focus on human rights in repressive states and that the findings collected are reported to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development.
