Introduction of Government Bills

Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Boudria (Minister of State and Leader of the Government in the House of Commons) , seconded by Mr. Anderson (Minister of the Environment) , Bill C-34, An Act to amend the Parliament of Canada Act (Ethics Commissioner and Senate Ethics Officer) and other Acts in consequence, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.

Recommendation

Her Excellency the Governor General recommends to the House of Commons the appropriation of public revenue under the circumstances, in the manner and for the purposes set out in a measure entitled “An Act to amend the Parliament of Canada Act (Ethics Commissioner and Senate Ethics Officer) and other Acts in consequence”.

Q-168 — Mr. St-Julien (Abitibi—Baie-James—Nunavik) — In the case of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, Western Economic Diversification Canada, Federal Economic Development Initiative in Northern Ontario, and Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency: (a) how much money will be allocated to each of them in fiscal year 2003-2004; (b) how will it be distributed in each agency by number of person-years and by work location and position; and (c) how does Industry Canada allocate funding according to federal transfers for these agencies? — Sessional Paper No. 8555-372-168.

Government Orders
