By unanimous consent, it was ordered, — That, notwithstanding any Standing Order or usual practice of the House, in relation to Bill C-60, An Act to amend the National Defence Act (court martial) and to make a consequential amendment to another Act, on Monday, June 16, 2008, a Member from each recognized party may speak for a period not exceeding 10 minutes, after which time the Bill shall be deemed read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on National Defence; and that the Committee shall be permitted to meet that day.

Introduction of Government Bills

Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Ms. Ablonczy (Secretary of State (Small Business and Tourism)), seconded by Mr. Hill (Secretary of State), Bill C-62, An Act respecting not-for-profit corporations and certain other corporations, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.

Recommendation

Her Excellency the Governor General recommends to the House of Commons the appropriation of public revenue under the circumstances, in the manner and for the purposes set out in a measure entitled “An Act respecting not-for-profit corporations and certain other corporations”.

Presenting Reports from Committees

Mr. Malo (Verchères—Les Patriotes), from the Standing Committee on Health, presented the Sixth Report of the Committee, "Statutory Parliamentary Review of the 10-Year Plan to Strengthen Health Care". — Sessional Paper No. 8510-392-152.

Pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee requested that the government table a comprehensive response.
