M-494 — May 26, 2008 — Mr. Zed (Saint John) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should award the Memorial Cross to all mothers and widows of Canadian soldiers who died on active duty or whose death was consequently attributed to such duty, regardless of location, since September 3, 1945, provided that the awarding of such medals is done equitably and without discrimination to any military personnel in the post Second World War era. |
M-495 — May 26, 2008 — Ms. Nash (Parkdale—High Park) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should immediately move to update regulations under the Health of Animals Act governing animal transportation times to be consistent with the findings of the European Union Scientific Committee on Animal Health and Animal Welfare, to reduce transport time for pigs, poultry, horses, calves and lambs to 8 hours, and 12 hours for cattle, sheep and goats, with a view to reducing the likelihood of injury, suffering or death of animals in transit, and that adequate resources be provided to ensure the regulations are strictly enforced. |
