The Vice-Chair presented the Seventh Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure which read as follows:
Your Subcommittee met on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:
On Bill C-36:
That, on Bill C-36, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (Serious Time for the Most Serious Crime Act) the Committee hear witnesses on Wednesday, October 28 and Monday, November 2 and;
That if there are no more witnesses to be heard, that the Committee proceed to clause by clause consideration following the witnesses on Monday, November 2.
On Bill C-232:
That, on Bill C-232, An Act to amend the Supreme Court Act (understanding the official languages), on Wednesday, November 4, the Committee invite additional witnesses or proceed to clause-by-clause consideration.
On the review of the Canadian Human Rights Act (section 13):
That, on the study of the Canadian Human Rights Act, (section 13), on Monday October 26, the Committee invite Jennifer Lynch, Chief Commissioner of the Canadian Human Rights Commission for the first hour and that for the second hour, the Committee invite Richard Moon and a representative from the Canadian Jewish Congress;
And that the Committee invite additional witnesses on Monday, November 16.
On the study on organized crime:
That, the Committee travel to Toronto in relation to its study on organized crime on Monday, November 30.
