Brenda Lucki made a statement and answered questions.
At 4:00 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 4:05 p.m., the sitting resumed.
Judith Bartlett, Sonia Alimi, Jihan Abbas, Lisa Richardson and Jennifer Blake made statements and answered questions.
At 5:11 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 5:14 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.
It was agreed, — That, with regards to the study of forced sterilization of women in Canada, the analysts prepare a letter from the Chair of the Committee to the Minister of Health based upon all testimony and briefs received by June 21; that the letter express that the Committee has received said testimony and briefs and would like to make the Minister aware of the testimony; that the Chair and Vice-Chairs review and approve the letter on behalf of the Committee; and that the Chair send it to the Minister of Health.
The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.
It was agreed, — That the draft report be adopted.
It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Violence Facing Health Workers in Canada".
It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.
ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.
It was agreed, — That, should the Chair be unable to present the report to the House before or during the summer adjournment, the analysts prepare a letter from the Chair of the Committee to the Minister of Health that contains a summary of evidence from all testimony and briefs, as well as all the recommendations included in the report; that the Chair and Vice-Chairs review and approve the letter on behalf of the Committee; and that the Chair send the letter to the Minister of Health.
At 5:23 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
