Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, March 7, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of the development of a national pharmacare program.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

On motion of John Oliver, it was agreed, — That the analysts be directed to use the time period, as required, from today until Parliament resumes sitting in the fall, to complete a summary of evidence and testimony received so far in relation to the study of the development of a national pharmacare program.

At 1:25 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:25 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the thalidomide survivors contribution program, the draft workplan, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the public health effects of online violent and degrading sexually explicit material on children, women and men (M-47), the analysts be instructed to draft a report on “the public health effects of the ease of access and viewing of online violent and degrading sexually explicit material on children, women and men” which remains faithful to the wording of the motion and which draws on evidence and testimony received from witnesses who have published peer-reviewed scientific research on this topic.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of Bill C-211, An Act respecting a federal framework on post-traumatic stress disorder, the Committee dedicate an additional meeting to hear witnesses; and that, notwithstanding the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, members of the Committee submit to the Clerk of the Committee, by Thursday, May 4, 2017, their lists of witnesses.

At 2:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
