The Minister made a statement and, with Dr. Theresa Tam, Simon Kennedy and Michel Perron, answered questions.
At 4:56 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 4:59 p.m., the sitting resumed.
The Committee resumed consideration of the motion moved by Don Davies on Thursday, November 30, 2017, which read as follows:
That the Standing Committee on Health study the status of health and healthcare within Indigenous communities in Canada, including status, non-status, on-reserve, off-reserve and urban Indigenous populations, with the objective of better understanding the particular health care needs of this population, the gaps in service delivery, review the effectiveness of the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch of Health Canada, and report its findings to the House.
The debate continued.
After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was negatived, by a show of hands: YEAS: 4; NAYS: 5.
Marilyn Gladu moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee’s next study be on home care and palliative care and that it report its findings to the House.
Debate arose thereon.
Doug Eyolfson moved, — That the debate be now adjourned.
The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 5; NAYS: 4.
At 5:17 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
