Linda Cardinal and Jean Delisle made an opening statement and answered questions.
At 4:33 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 4:36 p.m., the sitting resumed.
Sylviane Lanthier and Maryse Benhoff made an opening statement and, with Suzanne Bossé, answered questions.
Dan Vandal moved, — That the Committee undertake a study to examine the Roadmap for Canada's Official Languages 2013-2018, as well as the Roadmap for Canada's Linguistic Duality 2008–2013, particularly in their effects on English and French linguistic minority communities in Canada; that the committee identify initiatives and opportunities for the next Official Languages Plan to support and enhance the vitality of the English and French linguistic minority communities in Canada and foster the full recognition of both English and French in Canadian society and, that the committee report its findings to the House.
After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 10; NAYS: 0.
At 5:34 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
