Doug Johnson and Stephen Wilcox, by videoconference from Oshawa, Ontario, made statements and answered questions.
Ken Hardie gave notice of the following motion:
That the Committee urge the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security and the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights Committee to consider utilizing their respective expertise to examine any possible privacy, public safety and / or national security implications of UAVS and UAV technologies in the context of potential threats resulting from the nefarious use of this emerging and expanding technology.
At 9:43 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 9:45 a.m., the sitting resumed .
By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That the Department of Transport' s opening remarks be taken as a brief.
Assistant Commissioner Boucher made a statement and, with Staff Sergeant Domoney, Laureen Kinney, Aaron McCrorie and Mark Wuennenberg, answered questions.
At 10: 41 a.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.
At 10:43 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
