| In accordance with its Order of Reference of Tuesday, September 27, 2005, your Committee has considered Bill C-49, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (trafficking in persons), and agreed on Tuesday, October 4, 2005, to report it with the following amendments: | Conformément à son Ordre de renvoi du mardi 27 septembre 2005, votre Comité a étudié le projet de loi C-49, Loi modifiant le Code criminel (traite des personnes), et a convenu le mardi 4 octobre 2005, d’en faire rapport avec les amendements suivants : |

| That Bill C-49, in Clause 8, be amended by replacing lines 27 and 28 on page 4 with the following: | Que le projet de loi C-49, à l'article 8, soit modifié par substitution, aux lignes 31 et 32, page 4, de ce qui suit : |

| That Bill C-49 be amended by adding after line 35 on page 5 the following: | Que le projet de loi C-49 soit modifié par adjonction, après la ligne 37, page 5, de ce qui suit : |
9. (1) If subsection 1(4) of An Act to amend the Criminal Code, the DNA Identification Act and the National Defence Act (the “other Act”), chapter 25 of the Statutes of Canada, 2005, comes into force before this Act receives royal assent, section 5 of this Act is replaced by the following: 5. Paragraph (a) of the definition “primary designated offence” in section 487.04 of the Act is amended by adding the following after subparagraph (vii): (vii.1) section 279.01 (trafficking in persons), (2) If this Act receives royal assent before the coming into force of subsection 1(4) of the other Act, then on the coming into force of that subsection, paragraph (a) of the definition “primary designated offence” in section 487.04 of the Criminal Code is amended by adding the following after subparagraph (vii): (vii.1) section 279.01 (trafficking in persons), | 9. (1) Si le paragraphe 1(4) de la Loi modifiant le Code criminel, la Loi sur l’identification par les empreintes génétiques et la Loi sur la défense nationale, chapitre 25 des Lois du Canada (2005), (appelée « autre loi » au présent article), entre en vigueur avant la date de sanction de la présente loi, l’article 5 de celle-ci est remplacé par ce qui suit : 5. L’alinéa a) de la définition de « infraction primaire », à l’article 487.04 de la même loi, est modifié par adjonction, après le sous-alinéa (vii), de ce qui suit : (vii.1) article 279.01 (traite des personnes), (2) Si la présente loi est sanctionnée avant l’entrée en vigueur du paragraphe 1(4) de l’autre loi, à l’entrée en vigueur de ce paragraphe, l’alinéa a) de la définition de « infraction primaire », à l’article 487.04 du Code criminel est modifié par adjonction, après le sous-alinéa (vii), de ce qui suit : (vii.1) article 279.01 (traite de personnes), |
