Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Ms. Wilson-Raybould (Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada) for Mr. LeBlanc (Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard), seconded by Mr. Bains (Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development), Bill C-68, An Act to amend the Fisheries Act and other Acts in consequence, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House. Recommendation

Her Excellency the Governor General recommends to the House of Commons the appropriation of public revenue under the circumstances, in the manner and for the purposes set out in a measure entitled “An Act to amend the Fisheries Act and other Acts in consequence”.

Mr. Scheer (Regina—Qu'Appelle), seconded by Ms. Bergen (Portage—Lisgar), moved, — That, in the opinion of the House, when any Member violates the Conflict of Interest Act, including accepting gifts or hospitality (section 11), furthering private interests (section 21), being in a conflict of interest (section 5), and accepting travel (section 12), or violates the Conflict of Interest Code for Members of the House of Commons, and, in so doing, incurs a cost upon the taxpayer, that Member must repay those costs to the taxpayer. |
M. Scheer (Regina—Qu'Appelle), appuyé par Mme Bergen (Portage—Lisgar), propose, — Que, de l’avis de la Chambre, si un député enfreint la Loi sur les conflits d’intérêts, notamment en acceptant des cadeaux ou des marques d’hospitalité (article 11), en favorisant ses intérêts personnels (article 21), en se trouvant en situation de conflit d’intérêts (article 5) et en acceptant un voyage (article 12), ou s’il enfreint le Code régissant les conflits d’intérêts des députés, et, ce faisant, qu’il entraîne des coûts pour le contribuable, ce député doit rembourser ces coûts au contribuable. |
