Minutes of Proceedings
It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $96,150.00, for the study of the Statutory Review of the Fisheries Act, be adopted.
Adam Burns made a statement and, with Bernard Vigneault and William McGillivray, answered questions.
Mike Kelloway gave notice of the following motion:
That the Committee proceeds to the study on the statutory review of the Fisheries Act in order that the committee might further strengthen owner-operator rules and enforcement measures given the Conservative Party of Canada’s hidden agenda to gut owner-operator on the East Coast much as they did in British Columbia when they were last in power. Furthermore, once this study begins, it shall not be interrupted by anything other than the scheduled ministerial appearance, hearings on derelict and abandoned vessels, or an emergency meeting as defined by Standing Order 106(4).
At 1:03 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
