The Order was read for the second reading and reference to the Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs of Bill C-61, An Act to amend the War Veterans Allowance Act, the Pension Act, the Merchant Navy Veteran and Civilian War-related Benefits Act, the Department of Veterans Affairs Act, the Veterans Review and Appeal Board Act and the Halifax Relief Commission Pension Continuation Act and to amend certain other Acts in consequence thereof.
Ms. Robillard (Minister of Citizenship and Immigration) for Mr. Mifflin (Minister of Veterans Affairs), seconded by Mr. MacAulay (Solicitor General of Canada), moved, -- That the Bill be now read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs.

Mr. Grewal (Surrey Central), from the Standing Joint Committee for Scrutiny of Regulations, presented the 4th Report of the Committee (Food and Drug Regulations, C.R.C. 1978, c. 870). -- Sessional Paper No. 8510-361-137.
Pursuant to Standing Order 123, it was noted that the Report contained a proposed resolution to revoke sections G.06.001(1) and J.01.033(1) of the Food and Drug Regulations, C.R.C. 1978, c. 870.
A copy of the relevant Minutes of Proceedings (Meeting No. 18) was tabled.
