PRIVATE MEMBERS' BUSINESS

At 11:00 a.m., pursuant to Standing Order 30(6), the House proceeded to the consideration of Private Members' Business.

The Order was read for the second reading and reference to the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food of Bill C-387, An Act to establish a national committee to develop policies and procedures to ensure coordination in the delivery of programs by governments in the case of agricultural losses or disasters created by weather or pests, the coordination of the delivery of information, assistance, relief and compensation and study the compliance of such programs with World Trade Organization requirements.

Mr. Borotsik (Brandon -- Souris), seconded by Mr. Matthews (Burin -- St. George's), moved, -- That the Bill be now read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food.

Debate arose thereon.

Pursuant to Standing Order 96(1), the Order was dropped from the Order Paper.

GOVERNMENT ORDERS

Notice having been given at a previous sitting under the provisions of Standing Order 78(3), Mr. Boudria (Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), seconded by Mr. Gagliano (Minister of Public Works and Government Services), moved, -- That, in relation to Bill C-78, An Act to establish the Public Sector Pension Investment Board, to amend the Public Service Superannuation Act, the Canadian Forces Superannuation Act, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Superannuation Act, the Defence Services Pension Continuation Act, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Pension Continuation Act, the Members of Parliament Retiring Allowances Act and the Canada Post Corporation Act and to make a consequential amendment to another Act, not more than one further sitting day shall be allotted for the consideration of the second reading stage of the said Bill; and

That, fifteen minutes before the expiry of the time provided for Government Orders on the day allotted to the second reading stage consideration of the said Bill, any proceedings before the House shall be interrupted, if required, for the purpose of this Order and, in turn, every question necessary to dispose of the second reading stage of the Bill shall be put forthwith and successively, without further debate or amendment.
