Introduction of Private Members' Bills
Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Reynolds (West Vancouver -- Sunshine Coast), seconded by Mr. Breitkreuz (Yorkton -- Melville), Bill C-391, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (wearing of war decorations), was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.
Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Penson (Peace River), seconded by Mr. Chatters (Athabasca), Bill C-392, An Act respecting the privatization of the Export Development Corporation and the disposal of the shares therein of Her Majesty in right of Canada, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.
Motions
By unanimous consent, Mr. Boudria (Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), seconded by Ms. Blondin-Andrew (Secretary of State (Children and Youth)), moved, -- That, in accordance with subsection 53(3) of the Act to extend the present laws of Canada that protect the privacy of individuals and that provide individuals with a right of access to personal information about themselves, Chapter P-21, Revised Statutes of Canada 1985, this House approve the re-appointment of Bruce Phillips as Privacy Commissioner for a term of two years.
The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.
