Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Nystrom (Regina -- Qu'Appelle), seconded by Mr. Proctor (Palliser), Bill C-299, An Act to provide cost of production protection for the family farm, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.

Motions
By unanimous consent, it was ordered, -- That the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans be authorized to travel to Prince Edward Island, Halifax, Moncton and the Gaspé during the week of November 21 to 27, 1999, for the purpose of its study on the implications of the September 17, 1999 Marshall ruling of the Supreme Court on the management of the fisheries in the Atlantic region, that the necessary staff do accompany the Committee, and that sufficient funds be allotted for the travel.
