By unanimous consent, Mr. Boudria (Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), seconded by Mr. Kilger (Stormont- Dundas -- Charlottenburgh), moved, -- That, notwithstanding any Standing Order or usual practice, at 5:45 p.m. today, all questions necessary to dispose of Ways and Means Proceedings No. 5 on the Order Paper be put, a recorded division be deemed requested and the bells summoning the Members be rung for not more than 15 minutes;

STATEMENT BY THE SPEAKER

Further to the question of privilege raised by Mr. Chatters (Athabasca) on Monday, February 7, 2000, the Speaker directed, pursuant to Standing Order 94(1)(a), that the Order for the second reading of Bill C-206, An Act to amend the Access to Information Act and to make amendments to other Acts, standing on the Order Paper in the name of Mr. Bryden (Wentworth -- Burlington), be again dropped to the bottom of the order of precedence on the Order Paper.

NOTICE OF MOTION

Mr. Boudria (Leader of the Government in the House of Commons) gave notice of the intention to move a motion at the next sitting of the House, pursuant to Standing Order 78(3), for the purpose of allotting a specified number of days or hours for the consideration and disposal of the stage of consideration of Senate amendments to Bill C-6, An Act to support and promote electronic commerce by protecting personal information that is collected, used or disclosed in certain circumstances, by providing for the use of electronic means to communicate or record information or transactions and by amending the Canada Evidence Act, the Statutory Instruments Act and the Statute Revision Act.
