Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. St-Julien (Abitibi -- Baie-James -- Nunavik), seconded by Mr. Patry (Pierrefonds -- Dollard), Bill C-476, An Act respecting the posting of fuel prices by retailers, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.

By unanimous consent, it was ordered, -- That, at the conclusion of today's debate on the motion for the second reading of Bill C-223, An Act to amend the Witness Protection Program Act and to make a related and consequential amendment to another Act (protection of spouses whose life is in danger), all questions necessary to dispose of the said motion shall be deemed put and a recorded division deemed requested and deferred until Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at the expiry of the time provided for Government Orders.
