Mr. Herron (Fundy -- Royal), seconded by Mr. Bachand (Richmond -- Arthabaska), moved, -- That, in the opinion of this House, the government should act with the provinces and territories to establish enforceable national drinking water standards that would be enshrined in a Safe Water Act.

Mr. Clark (Calgary Centre), seconded by Mr. Borotsik (Brandon -- Souris), moved the following amendment, -- That the motion be amended by inserting the word ``immediately'' after the word ``act''.
