Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Martin (Winnipeg Centre), seconded by Ms. Crowder (Nanaimo—Cowichan), Bill C-260, An Act to amend the Income Tax Act (deductibility of expense of tools provided as a requirement of employment), was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.


Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Martin (Winnipeg Centre), seconded by Ms. Crowder (Nanaimo—Cowichan), Bill C-261, An Act to establish the office of Pension Ombudsman to investigate administrative difficulties encountered by persons in their dealings with the Government of Canada in respect of benefits under the Canada Pension Plan or the Old Age Security Act or tax liability on such benefits and to review the policies and practices applied in the administration and adjudication of such benefits and liabilities, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.


Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Martin (Winnipeg Centre), seconded by Ms. Crowder (Nanaimo—Cowichan), Bill C-262, An Act to amend the Old Age Security Act (monthly guaranteed income supplement), was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.


Motions

By unanimous consent, it was ordered, — That, notwithstanding any Standing Order or usual practices of the House, on Thursday, May 18, 2006, the House shall meet at 9:00 a.m. and proceed to the ordinary daily routine of business, followed by Government Orders; at 11:00 a.m. Members may make statements pursuant to Standing Order 31; not later than 11:15 a.m. oral questions shall be taken up; at noon, the House shall stand adjourned to the next sitting day;

that the Address of the Prime Minister of Australia, to be delivered in the Chamber of the House of Commons at 3:00 p.m. that day before Members of the Senate and the House of Commons, together with all introductory and related remarks, be printed as an appendix to the House of Commons Debates for that day and form part of the records of this House; and

that the media recording and transmission of such address, introductory and related remarks be authorized pursuant to established guidelines for such occasions.

The Order was read for the second reading and reference to the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities of Bill C-6, An Act to amend the Aeronautics Act and to make consequential amendments to other Acts.
