At 11:12 a.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.
The witnesses answered questions.
At 11:35 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 11:57 a.m., the sitting resumed.
Doug Switzer, John-Paul Pelletier, by videoconference from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Phil Benson, made statements and answered questions.

The Committee resumed consideration of the motion moved by Tom Kmiec on Thursday, April 4, 2019, which read as follows:
That the Committee undertake a study on allowing Canadians to bring their legally owned, American-registered and plated passenger vehicles into Canada for a defined temporary period, in the same manner that American citizens may do in Canada, without having to pay any taxes, duties or importation fees; that the Committee report its findings to the House no later than 90 sitting days following adoption of this motion; that the Committee make recommendations on actions the Government of Canada should undertake to adopt a border control system that allows for the temporary use of American-plated vehicles by Canadian citizens; that no less than two meetings be dedicated to this study; and that the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to its report.
Debate arose thereon.
It was agreed, — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “no less than two meetings” with the words “no less than a one-hour meeting”.
The question was put on the motion, as amended, and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 9; NAYS: 0.
The motion, as amended, read as follows:
