Pursuant to Standing Order 69(2), on motion of Mrs. Lebouthillier (Minister of National Revenue) for Mr. Lametti (Minister of Justice), seconded by Ms. Gould (Minister of Families, Children and Social Development), Bill S-11, A fourth Act to harmonize federal law with the civil law of Quebec and to amend certain Acts in order to ensure that each language version takes into account the common law and the civil law, was read the first time and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House. |

(i) the Bank of Canada governor has admitted that the carbon tax contributes to inflation,
|
(ii) the Parliamentary Budget Officer says that households will pay more in carbon tax costs than they get back,
|
(iii) the government plans to triple the carbon tax, which will increase the price of gas, groceries, and home heating,
|
|
the House call on the government to immediately cancel the carbon tax. |
