On Monday, September 26, 2022, the Standing Committee on Science and Research adopted the following motion:

That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(i), the committee undertake a study on the role and value of citizen scientists and develop recommendations on how to encourage and expand the roles played by citizen scientists and that eight hours be allocated to hearing from witnesses.
