By unanimous consent, it was ordered, -- That, at the conclusion of debate on Bill C-302, An Act to establish the rights of fishers including the right to be involved in the process of fisheries stock assessment, fish conservation, setting of fishing quotas, fishing licensing and the public right to fish and establish the right of fishers to be informed of decisions affecting fishing as a livelihood in advance and the right to compensation if other rights are abrogated unfairly, on Wednesday, December 9, 1998, the question be deemed put, and a recorded division deemed requested and deferred until the expiry of the time provided for Government Orders on Tuesday, February 2, 1999.

At 6:42 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 30(7), Mr. Martin (Winnipeg Centre), seconded by Mr. Godin (Acadie -- Bathurst), moved, -- That, in the opinion of this House, the government should invest in a comprehensive energy efficiency strategy, thus: (a) exploiting the considerable job creation potential of energy efficiency; (b) encouraging the development of high tech expertise and export opportunities and (c) increasing the number of federally owned buildings (of which there are 50,000) retrofitted for energy efficiency through the Federal Buildings Initiative. (Private Members' Business M-300)
