A meeting of the Board of Internal Economy of the House of Commons was held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 3:30 p.m., in Room 112-N, Centre Block.

In the Chair: The Honourable Andrew Scheer, Speaker of the House of Commons

Present: The Honourables Peter Van Loan, John Duncan, Rob Merrifield and Dominic LeBlanc; Mr. Philip Toone; Mrs. Nycole Turmel

Secretary to the Board: Audrey O’Brien, Clerk of the House of Commons

Also Present: Richard Denis, Deputy Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel; Robin Kells, Secretariat

The Board took note of the motion tabled by Mrs. Turmel regarding leaks of Board information to journalists.

Use of House Resources

Large-Volume Mailings and Satellite Offices

The Board continued its deliberations on certain large-volume mailings and on satellite offices . With Mrs. Turmel and Mr. Toone dissenting, the Board agreed that all materials prepared for or by the Board, including correspondence on the two matters, be made available to the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs .

The meeting was adjourned.
