A meeting of the Board of Internal Economy of the House of Commons was held on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 11:02 a.m., in Room 225-A, West Block.

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS

The minutes of the meetings of December 2 and December 9, 2021 were approved for tabling.


BUSINESS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS

The Board took note of correspondence distributed since its last meeting.


PROPOSED 2022-2023 MAIN ESTIMATES

Paul St George, Chief Financial Officer, presented the proposed 2022-2023 Main Estimates and answered questions.

The Board approved the proposed 2022-2023 Main Estimates for the House of Commons in the amount of $563M. The Board also approved the changes to the description and presentation of the statutory authorities, whereby the salaries and allowances of Members and House Officers and the contributions to the Members’ pension plans will be shown on two separate lines.


At 11:13 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:16 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.


LEGAL MATTERS

The Board discussed a legal matter.


EMPLOYMENT MATTERS

The Board discussed employment matters.


The meeting was adjourned at 1:03 p.m.
