Pursuant to the Order adopted by the House on Monday, May 16, 2022, and Standing Order 106(2), the clerk of the committee presided over the election of vice-chairs.

It was agreed, — That Tom Kmiec be elected Vice-Chair of the committee representing the official opposition.

It was agreed, — That Stéphane Bergeron be elected Vice-Chair of the committee representing the Bloc Québécois.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That on Monday, October 16, 2023, the committee consider the draft report in relation to the matter of police service stations.

It was agreed, — That on Monday, October 23 and on Monday, October 30, 2023, the committee consider the draft report in relation to the matter of investment funds.

It was agreed, — That on Monday, November 6, 2023, if needed, the committee consider the draft report in relation to the matter of investment funds for 1.5 hours; that the committee invite officials from Global Affairs Canada for one hour; and that the committee discuss committee business for the last 15 minutes of the meeting.

ORDERED, — That the Chair consult his fellow chairs of the following committees in the view of avoiding duplication in a potential study of Canada’s strategy for the Indo-Pacific: Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development, Standing Committee on National Defence, Standing Committee on International Trade, Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development.

At 4:35 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
