Thomas Juneau, Vincent Rigby and Jonathan Berkshire Miller made statements and answered questions.
Michael D. Chong moved, — That the committee study the matter of the three illegal police stations opened in the Greater Toronto Area by the Fuzhou Public Security Bureau of the People's Republic of China; that two meetings, made up of four 1.5 hour panels, be allocated for the study of this matter; that the Minister of Public Safety and officials be invited to appear for one panel; that the RCMP and CSIS be invited for one panel; and that experts on police and intelligence be invited as witnesses for the other panels.
Debate arose thereon.
Christine Normandin moved, — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “four 1.5 hour panels” with the words “six one hour panels”.
After debate, the question was put on the amendment of Christine Normandin and it was negatived on the following recorded division:
