[Translation]

I call this meeting to order.
Welcome to meeting No. 63 of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Industry and Technology.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Wednesday October 5, 2022, we are studying Bill C‑244, An Act to amend the Copyright Act (diagnosis, maintenance and repair)..
Today’s meeting is taking place in a hybrid format, pursuant to the House Order of Thursday, June 23, 2022.
We will now continue with clause-by-clause consideration of Bill C‑244.

[English]

We will resume debate on amendment G-1 of clause 2 in Bill C-244.
    I will recognize MP Fillmore.
    Thanks, Mr. Chair.
I think we are in a really good position with our team members from all parties today to get through this pretty quickly. I don't think that I am mis-characterizing agreement; I think all parties are ready to proceed with adopting amendment G-1 as it is written and have also agreed to drop any other amendments that have been tabled.
    I'll leave it there.
    Thank you, Mr. Fillmore.
    Shall amendment G-1 carry?
(Amendment agreed to [See Minutes of Proceedings])
The Chair: Considering that amendment G-1 carries, all the other amendments are moot.
    Voices: Hear, hear!
The Chair: Go ahead, Mr. Perkins.
I want to thank the officials in our last meeting for helping us to get through this very technical part of it so that we could come to this agreement.
    Some hon. members: Hear, hear!

[Translation]

Chair, I would also like to salute Mr. Fillmore's leadership. It is rare to see such examples of collaboration. There should be more instances in which we persuade through ideas rather than by strength in numbers.
    We make a good team.
    Wonderful.
I'm very pleased. I didn't think we were going to achieve this, but we did.
I would also like to congratulate the member for Richmond-Centre for his work.

[English]

However, we're not done yet, folks. We still have to adopt clause 2.
(Clause 2 as amended agreed to [See Minutes of Proceedings])
The Chair: Shall the title carry?
    Some hon. members: Agreed.
The Chair: Shall the bill, as amended, carry?
    Some hon. members: Agreed.
The Chair: Shall the chair report the bill to the House?
    Some hon. members: Agreed.
The Chair: Shall the committee order a reprint of the bill, as amended, for the use of the House at report stage?
    Some hon. members: Agreed.
The Chair: We will now suspend this meeting.
    [Proceedings continue in camera]
