Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, April 29, 2024, the committee resumed its study of minority-language education continuum.

Raymond Théberge made a statement and, with Patrick Wolfe and Pierre Leduc, answered questions.

At 12:02 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 12:11 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f), the committee undertake a study on the importance of local media; that the committee invite witnesses with precise knowledge in radio broadcasting and community radio stations across Canada; that the committee allocate a minimum of four meetings to this study; that the committee report its findings to the House.

It was agreed, — That the study on local media begin once the witness testimony for the study on the Minority-Language Education Continuum has been completed.

It was agreed, — That the committee invite experts for a briefing session on the challenges of accessing 911 emergency services in French due to the use of IP telephony.

At 1:01 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
