The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Motion

Nathan Cullen moved, — That, notwithstanding the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, October 30, 2017, regarding the Conflict of Interest Act study, the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner be invited to appear before the end of her tenure set for January 8, 2018.

Debate arose thereon.

At 3:52 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was negatived on the following recorded division:

The Chair called Vote 1b under the Offices of the Information and Privacy Commissioners of Canada.

Layla Michaud made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:43 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:48 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The Chair called Vote 1b under the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying.
